| - EXHIBITION APPLICATIONS INVITED: AART.BOXX 2011 to Oct 8 | Accessible Arts and Sydney College of the Arts will present a national exhibition of recent works by contemporary visual artists with disability. The exhibition will build on the success of the Accessible Arts led initative and exhibition program, titled AART.BOXX.The exhibition will be held at SCA Gallery in October 2011.
The selected works for this exhibition will aim to challenge the current discourses within contemporary art by highlighting art practices that are informed by cultures of disability.

| - AIDC MeetMarket is Calling for Projects - Nov 29 | MeetMarket is open for submissions for the next annual selection of projects.
The MeetMarket catalogue, offers content seekers a curated collection of projects. The 25 competitively selected new additions each year feature in MeetMarket at AIDC.
20 slots are available to Australian filmmakers and 5 slots are open to projects from Asian filmmakers.
The 25 newly selected MeetMarket projects are pitched by the filmmakers during one-on-one meetings with interested content seekers attending AIDC 2011.
Providing a platform for outstanding ideas to shine - MeetMarket is the place to get visible.
Projects entered may be at any stage of development, production or post-production.

| - Sturt Artist Residency - Oct 31 | Applications are now being invited for Sturt residencies in 2011. Applications will be considered from established professionals and recent graduates in the areas of woodwork, ceramics, weaving/textiles and jewellery/metalwork.
Sturt maintains one of the largest craft based residency programs in Australia with places for up to eight residents each year to live, work and teach in Sturt’s unique environment.

| - Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarships - Oct 29 | The Marten Bequest Travelling Scholarships provide support for young Australians in a variety of categories to help them further their cultural education and achieve their dreams. They are awarded each year for study, maintenance and travel either in Australia or overseas.
A total of six scholarships each to the value of $20,000 will be offered in 2011. The categories for the 2011 scholarships include acting, painting, sculpture and singing.

| - Laughing Waters Artist Residency - Closing 24 October | Nillumbik Shire Council, in partnership with Parks Victoria, invites contemporary artists working in any medium to apply for a live-in residency of up to four months in one of two properties located in protected Eltham bushland, approximately 30 kilometres north-east of Melbourne.
Resident artists will be required to devise and deliver a small community project as part of the residency. The residency program aims to provide contemporary artists with an opportunity to develop their practice in an inspiring natural and cultural environment while contributing to cultural development and environmental awareness within the Shire.

| - Calling artists for 2011 JUMP national mentoring program to Oct 22 | Youth Arts Queensland and its State Delivery Partners invite artists from across Australia to apply for the 2011 JUMP national mentoring program for young and emerging artists, with applications open today. As Australia’s largest artist mentoring program, JUMP identifies and promotes excellence in artistic practice amongst artists aged 18 – 30, who are in the first five years of their professional practice.
Funded by the Australia Council for the Arts, JUMP supports artists in developing a one-on-one relationship with an industry leader of their choice, and working with them on a funded creative project.
The program also provides access to national industry networks, online profiling and professional development opportunities.

| - FraserStudios Visual Arts Residency 2011 - Sept 27 | The FraserStudios Project offers four 3-month residencies (12 weeks) for 8-10 visual artists/groups per residency from November 2010 to November 2011. Additionally, the program will offer two 6-month residencies during this timeframe to emerging artists.
The aim of the residency program is to support artistic development and expression with an emphasis on local community development through a diversity of art form practises.
The residencies are open to professional artists and groups (emerging and established) encompassing a diverse range of practises and outcomes. All applicants must have the capacity to work in a shared space with other artists and commit to working in an active studio environment. The program takes a very broad view of the term “visual arts” and may include, but is not limited to; painting, sculpture, photography, digital arts, textiles, installation and design.

| - NSFA Research Fellowships - Sept 30 | The National Film and Sound Archives (NFSA) invites proposals from people who wish to conduct high level research into the national audiovisual collection. This research may take various forms such as: an academic may want to write a book or produce a website, a creative artist may wish to create a film, musical composition, dance piece or some other artwork, a curator may wish to develop an exhibition, historians, scientists and policy makers may wish to delve into the mysteries of Australia's audiovisual past.

| - The Spirit of the Land Festival call out for artists - closes Oct 1 | The Spirit of the Land Lockhart Festival is held from 8 - 10 October and hosts Australia’s only Farm Sculpture award for art created from scrap metal, recycled farm materials and elements of the Land. The Lockhart Shire Council is sponsoring the event this year with a prize pool of $15 000 and a first prize of $10 000.
The Festival is seeking the following participants: Artists Professional, emerging and hobby artists are invited to submit work in the following categories: Farm Sculpture, Fine Arts and Indigenous Arts.

Our musical tastes are relatively conservative, as our customers range from regular Coffs Harbour locals who appreciate the unique ambiance and beauty of the harbour to the wide range of visitors who come to enjoy the sights and sounds of the harbour side precinct.

The program provides professional development opportunities for local, and interstate artists while promoting cultural understanding and development in communities. Applications from Australian organisations or emerging and mid-career artists from around Australia are welcomed.
