Carosi
I was born in Italy in a
small town by the name of Carpineto a province of Rome in 1952. My parents migrated
to Australia when I was 5 years of age. I grew up in the inner western suburb
of Sydney and after finishing school I worked as clerk mainly in the accounts
section, which allowed me to work in varied industries. I always loved art and
as a child loved painting .
After meeting &
marrying my husband Brian Barker (who also paints) in 1980 my interest in art
grew but it went in the direction of Pottery, attending night classes.
I started painting in 1996
after been encouraged by Brian as this would be something that we could enjoy
together. After attending art classes I decided I was a better painter then
a potter. I continued working part time and attending art classes on a weekly
basis over 3 years.
In 2000 Brian & I moved
from Loftus Sydney to Bonny Hills and joined the Hastings Valley Fine Art Association.
Since Joining the Association I have diversified my skill as an Artist. I started
painting in Oils & now thanks to the Tutorials organised by the HVFFA I
also paint in Acrylics & Pastels.
I have received a number
of Merit Awards (First & Highly commended) in exhibitions held in the North
Coast area.
We Both have helped develop an Artist Trail Named The Hastings Art Trail With
a Number of People have Formed a Collective and Have galleriers Open to the
Public in Their Homes ,our work can be viewed at The Rainbow Beach Gallery at
15 Kendall Cres Bonny Hills.
